Details

Fresh water boat, well maintained, and is very clean inside and out. The boat is in excellent condition. The North main was new in 2015. The boom has two jiffy reefing lines built in. There is a furling genoa also in good condition.

The mast is a keel-step with two sets of spreaders. There is a baby stay and the back stay is bridled with adjustable tension rigging. All the standing rigging uses top quality hardware, and all the deck fittings are accessible from below. The running lines have been replaced within the last few years. The large Lewmar winches for the sheets are self tailing, and the halyard winches are set aft on the cabin with line locks nearby. Lines run aft making this an easy boat to sail single handed.

Below deck is very spacious due to the high freeboard design, providing six feet of headroom. Port lights and hatches allow for great ventilation. The V-birth is comfortable for a couple, and the quarter birth is also spacious. There is also a slide out salon settee. The teak woodwork is solid with a teak and holly sole.

The galley and head have pressurized hot and cold water, and the galley sink also has a cold water foot pump. The icebox has refrigeration and is wall insulated with teak grating and drainage into the shower sump. The gimbaled stove has two top burners. The shower drains directly into an upper level bilge with its own pump. The manual head is a few years old.

The access to the engine is excellent for standard maintenance, and there is and engine pan to prevent fluids from leaking into the bilge. The pumps are new and the hosing has all been replace, the bilge on the vessel is also very clean.

The boat is a pleasure to sail. The masthead design provides a powerful headsail and the center of balance is just aft of the mast. The fin keel with spade rudder lets her turn on a dime. Sea Sparrow has the feel of a larger boat, and is not overly tender and will set into a groove when heading up. The reverse transom also helps to keep her stable when running downwind.
